Woojung Education and Culture Scholarship

The Woojung Education and Culture Foundation was established by the Chairman of Booyoung Group, one of the key construction companies in the Republic of Korea, to financially support foreign students of selected countries currently studying in Korea, on a need basis. To qualify for the Woojung Scholarship, students need to meet the criteria as set forth by the Woojung Education and Culture Foundation. Nine (09) scholarships have been awarded to Sri Lankan students at the moment.

- Guidelines for consideration of the scholarship;

  • Sri Lankan students who are currently studying in the Republic of Korea (undergraduate, Masters or PhD courses) and need financial assistance for studies.
  • A student with 80 points (Grade B equivalent) of scholastic records or above.
  • A student acknowledged to have good demeanor and able to contribute to country and society in the future.

The scholarship is awarded to students on the recommendation of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Republic of Korea and according to the Woojung Foundation’s regulations.

KOICA fellowships and scholarships are applicable only for the candidates from the Public Service sector of Sri Lanka.

Korean Red Cross Scholarship - Hanseo University

Hanseo University is interested in offering Scholarships to applicants who are the members of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Youth (RCY) from all over the world, especially from Asian countries. The University would like to invite scholarship sponsored foreign applicants for the education of humanity related studies and majors of interest.

Criteria for application for invited countries are as follows:

  • 1. Recommendation from Red Cross/Red Crescent National Society.
  • 2. One year membership of Red Cross/ Red Crescent National Society.
  • 3. Number of students: About 15 students per year (less than 2 students per country)
  • 4. Age : Under 21
  • 5. Proficiency in English: from middle to high level.
  • 6. Standard for school System Education level: Graduate of regular Government-certified school who has completed over 11 years of education for elementary middle and high school courses.
  • 7. Period of study: Four years Bachelor Degree course, and additional six months for the Korean Language Training Course.

For student reference: basic expenditures for schooling such as tuition and boarding will be covered by Hanseo University, whereas international airfare, meals and personal expenses will be the responsibility of the individual student.

All applications must be submitted through the Red Cross National Societies of invited countries. Applications will be accepted in April every year.
